Built on five generations of visionary leadership and a commitment to values, AMG has sailed through ups and downs, and proven that’s it’s here to stay for generations to come.
What sets us apart is our rich legacy, and our dedicated effort to honour these values while forging ahead with futuristic and dynamic thinking. While we diversify and integrate new age processes and ideologies, the fiber of our company is thick with the decades long commitment to relationships, ethics, and values of trust and integrity. AMG is the coming together of our gratitude for our rich history and learnings, our consistent efforts to orient ourselves to the present needs and demands, and our passion to leave an unshakable mark in the future to come.
Our thirst for journeying beyond the ordinary and comfortable makes us ready to step up and embrace innovative and new ideas and has allowed us to drive forward and expand into diverse fields of Textiles, Rubber Chemicals, Information Technology, Edu-Tech, Real Estate, E-commerce, and Healthcare.
Our corporate identity is resonated brilliantly by the blue lotus or ‘Indivar’. The blue lotus blooms at least one flower every day, and the flower has an exquisite fragrance, but it does not spread by itself – you will have to come close and sniff. Similarly, we don’t often shout about our achievements, but we quietly continue to rise above the circumstances every day despite all odds.
The story of the Mafatlal Group is a stirring saga, with traditional values and modern technology triumphing over challenging circumstances. Our founder Mr. Mafatlal Gagalbhai, was born in 1873, to a weaver of Ahmedabad. His father, who was neither educated nor prosperous, made a living by doing odd jobs. It wasn’t long before a young Mafatlal, still in his early teens, had to leave school to help his father peddle textile products. With goods hanging from their shoulders, both father and son would scour the countryside in search of buyers. Some of these very buyers proved to be Mr. Mafatlal’s benefactors in later years, when he metamorphosed into an industrialist, and lay the foundation for Mafatlal Industries. Under his leadership, the company expanded one textile mill at a time, to eventually make significant achievements as it grew over a century old.
